The ATSB collects, analyses and disseminates national statistics on road trauma. Our aim is to provide authoritative statistical information to support the development and evaluation of road safety measures. We maintain several databases compiled from a range of sources, including state and territory road authorities, police organisations, coronial reports and the Australian Bureau of Statistics.

The ATSB's statistical publications include:

• a monthly bulletin of statistics on road deaths in Australia


• a comprehensive annual report on road deaths in Australia


• an annual report comparing Australia's road fatality statistics with data from other OECD countries


• periodic monographs on specific road safety issues, drawing on detailed information from coronial records.

We also maintain an up-to-date, online database of fatal crash statistics, available for public use through the ATSB web site.
