In 1994 there were 1554 deaths which are not bad compared to last year. In 1995 there were more 1586 this number looks similar to data that was available in BAC driving. In 1996 the deaths were higher compared to 1995 in Illinois. Illinois reported 1477 deaths in 1996 and 1997 saw another increase in death rates there were around 1397 fatalities. In 1998 saw 1393 deaths and 1999 is another year which has to see around 1456 fatalities. For some reason 2000 saw the biggest drop in fatalities is it that many people stopped driving or is it that they were more safer, whatever the reason it may be we saw a big drop and there were only 1418 deaths / fatalities in 2000. 2001 followed with the same trend as 2000 we saw 1414 fatalities in 2001. In 2002, 1420 fatalities were reported our recorded are correct and accurate. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 saw 1454, 1355, 1363, 1254 fatalities respectively. Latest data we have is for the year 2007, 2008 data is yet to be released and if its released we will update it for you here. There were 1249 fatalities in 2007 the difference in percentage from 1994 - 2007 is -19.63%.

Fatalities Rate per 100 Million Vehicle Miles Traveled

Here is the data derived from the above data which gives the percentage of fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled.

In Illinois the year to year difference was not much. 1994 saw 1.68% of fatalities which 1995 saw 1.68. 1996 and 1997 saw 1.53, 1.41 percentage of fatalities. In 1998, 1999 and 2000 saw varied numbers. Rates for these years are 1.38, 1.42 and 1.38. 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 were all virtually same with small difference. Their percentages were 1.37, 1.35, 1.36, 1.24, 1.27 and 1.17 respectively. For 2007 the rate was 1.16.
